What is Hepatits B?
It is a serious disease caused by the Hepatitis B virus. It can lead to complications, including chronic hepatitis ([ersistent liver inflammation), liver cirrhosis (hardening of the liver), liver failure and liver cancer. The virus is spread through blood or other body fluids such as saliva, semen, or vaginal secretions from people who are infected or are carrying the Hepatitis B virus. The virus is often also passed from mother to baby, usually at the time of birth.
